In response to the needs of ” Interdisciplinary Industry Academia Innovation”, National Taiwan Normal University established a research college to integrate resources in different fields, and at the same time combined with market trends and enterprises. This makes our college a driving engine for cross-field innovation, forming a combination of academia and industry, enabling students to achieve the goal of learning and meanwhile bring the results of academic research to into the enterprise.
The government’s proposal of industrial innovation as the key strategic direction, the Institute of Research has set up two major research institutes, the “Graduate Institute of AI Interdisciplinary Applied Technology” and the “Graduate Institute of Green Energy and Sustainable Technology”. Among them, “AI cross-domain application” is the project of “artificial intelligence” and “smart manufacturing” among the five key areas planned by the Industrial Innovation Research Institute of the Ministry of Education.
Through the establishment of these two research institutes, a systematic cooperation mechanism between academia and industry will be improved, closely linking schools and industries, jointly investing in forward-looking applied research and cultivating talents, making Taiwan Normal University a partner in industrial innovation.
Graduate Institute of AI Interdisciplinary Applied Technology
The main research and development directions of the institute are artificial intelligence, Internet of Things technology, smart manufacturing technology, etc. We cooperate with enterprises to develop and research four major themes, including “smart display technology development and application”, “Metaverse 3D display”, “image display Smart Manufacturing and Automatic Production Calibration” and “Smart Information Security Technology Development” to jointly cultivate talents needed for industrial practice. In addition, through the industry-university cooperation mechanism, we can jointly develop innovative application services related to artificial intelligence with enterprises, and accelerate the incubation of AIoT overall solutions to enter the international market.
The goal of this institute is to deepen research, upgrade industrial technology, integrate resources in different professional fields, and develop new opportunities for technology. The teaching and research fields of this institute include: deep learning, artificial intelligence system platform, image processing and analysis, computer vision, natural language processing, smart display technology, smart Internet of Things technology, smart manufacturing technology, smart robot, etc. The characteristics of the course focus on the industrial link, employ experts in the field of artificial intelligence application from domestic and foreign research institutions and enterprises to participate in the teaching, implement the integration of learning and application, and solve the gap between learning and application.
Graduate Institute of Green Energy and Sustainable Technology
The main research and development direction of the institute is to actively expand the spirit of green energy and shape sustainable resources from the development of emerging energy to new generation alternative energy, energy-saving technology, smart grid systems, etc. We cooperate with enterprises through industry-university cooperation mechanisms and establish a cross-domain green energy application platform, cultivate high-level green energy talents and improve the green power participation system.
Based on the current industry situation, with the goal of grasping the pulse of the industry and accelerating the transformation plan, the research, teaching and courses of this institute are based on the new generation of technology and the trend of the green energy industry. From emerging energy materials, nano components, optoelectronics components and other research, to renewable energy, alternative fuels (biodiesel), new generation alternative energy (solar energy and cold nuclear fusion), etc. We provide a series of courses from basic to industrial application.
